Xcel Church exists to make the name of Jesus famous.
Overwhelmed by the gift of salvation we have found in Jesus, we have a heart for authentic worship, are passionate about the local church, and are on mission to see God’s kingdom established across the earth.
Xcel Church was founded by Jack and Pansy Dickinson in 1967 and pastored by Glyn & Pamela from 1987. For nearly 50 years Xcel Church has continued to grow and gain momentum, transforming into the vibrant and energetic church you see today, currently led by Pastors John & Lisa Greenow.

Lead Pastors of xcel church
Recently, I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me and say “Set your mind now on sons - John!” What does this mean for you and I? It means that the present and the future are our focus. The past is always to be honoured, but it is not where we linger.
Xcel Church, are we ready for a new season? More than that, a whole new era! Let’s grab the future, invest in the future, pray for the future, declare the future now and live expectant that the future has a harvest in it! A Harvest for us and for those that follow us. We are focusing on investing in the next generations so that lives can be changed, so that Xcel Church becomes more and more a place that is filled with life and freedom.
We love you, thank you for joining us on this journey.
The Church We See is Large and Full of Life
To provide an opportunity for people to GROW, to flourish and live out their God-given identity and purpose.
To MAKE disciples and help them move one more step in their walk with God. To see people come to Christ.
To BUILD a Church community, full of life and fun, where genuine friendships can be made and grow.
To SERVE the nations, across every sphere of life, so lives will be changed throughout the earth.
The Discipleship Pathway at Xcel Church is to help you to know where you’re at on your walk with God.
In 1967, when God gave a young couple a dream for a church in Newton Aycliffe, Jack and Pansy Dickinson pioneered the Full Gospel Church as a house group. The church soon began to grow and moved into rented buildings.
As the church continued to grow and flourish, Glyn and Pamela Greenow became the Senior Pastors (1985) and their passion for God’s House birthed a dream for the church to own its own building. In 1987 Glyn and Pamela took a giant step of faith and began to build a church in Woodham Village.
In September 2007, John and Lisa Greenow became the Lead Pastors and the church became known as Xcel Church. With services in Newton Aycliffe, Darlington, Spennymoor and most recently Bangalore, Xcel has continued to grow.
Xcel Church moved into their new home, the Xcel Centre in Newton Aycliffe at the end of 2009, a place not only for church to meet but also offering a Conference Centre, a Day Nursery and Jacksons Coffehouse.
For over 50 years Xcel Church has continued to grow and gain momentum, transforming into the vibrant and energetic church you see today.
